This section is for content editors and (non technical) website users and provides basic guidance to using Wordpress

This is still work in progress

No Gutenberg?

We are doing a lot of experimentation with the new Block editor and keep constantly coming back to the same conclusion. Gutenberg sucks so fucking hard. Classical editor gives so much better developer and editor experience that we’re still using it on most of Client sites. If there’s a reason why you’d want to turn your current site modules in to Block editor, please let us know about this.

Logging in

Use your individual login url and email address to login. Please note default /wp-admin/ is usually changed to prevent bad manner robots from accessing the login.

Issues with forgot password? Sometimes email server (Sendgrid) configurations can lead to delivery issues with native wordpress emails, especially if they have no other purpose than this. Or sometimes Sendgrid adds lead tracking to email links which can also break down the links. If issues please contact support@client.fi and we’ll reset your password.

Using the editor

Line breaks vs Paragraphs

Enter breaks the paragraph (adds space) while shift+enter adds line break (no space, handy for example with contacts etc where you want to keep the items below each other)

Featured image

Most pages and posts use featured image (aka hero image). It can be found in a seperate box on the right sidebar bottom.
